Current Role: Business Analyst
Describe what you do in one sentence.
I work with multiple departments to analyze and improve their processes.
What excites you most about working at Elevate K-12?
As a company in the high growth stage, Elevate K-12 offers a lot of opportunities to work with different departments and learn from so many amazing teammates.
What’s a “normal” day like for you at Elevate K-12?
Most days I understand existing processes and issues with members of different departments. Once I’ve analyzed the data, I suggest improvements and alternatives to department heads. Post approval, I help execute these changes.
What do you enjoy most about our culture?
There is no room for ego at Elevate K-12. We all work together to achieve the same goals every day, irrespective of positions and locations. There is a sense of friendliness and openness here that makes it less of a company and more of a family.
Elevate K-12’s mission is to bring high-quality instruction to all students, no matter their zip code. What do you like most about impacting students in this way?
Having been a volunteer teacher for underprivileged students, I know first hand the impact a caring instructor can have on students who have no other support system. Elevate K-12 offers that support system in class for students across the US, and it’s so heartwarming to hear students talk about how they feel differently about school and learning after just a few sessions with us.
Describe your best moment at Elevate K-12. Be specific!
There are so many to choose from, but if I had to pick one, it would have to be creating and executing an entirely new subject. The company had decided to start coding classes based on customer demand, and I put forth some ideas for the structure and delivery of the class. That snowballed into a full class creation project with a Computer Science expert. After months of planning, we piloted the program in a few schools during the summer.
The overwhelming response from the students was incredible! They actively wanted to come to the class during their summer break to work on the next coding project. Our instructors had a lot of fun delivering this new class too. This was just one of several examples where I was encouraged to contribute to the company outside of my department.
Tell us a little more about who you are–what do you like to do?
I’m a huge cat person and I volunteer regularly at a Cat Cafe in my area. We rescue, medicate, and help get local strays adopted. I also play football on the weekends, when my friends decide to show up!
Thanks, Anurag B.!
