What are some of the best parts of working with the Elevate K-12 online instructors?
As an APM, I have the opportunity to work with a variety of teachers with many different backgrounds. Serving as a mentor is always varied, and often, unexpectedly, very educational for me! Fostering an open communication with instructors on a program allows for professional growth for all members.
What excites you most about the work you do with Elevate K-12?
Without a doubt, the thing that excites me the most about the work I do with Elevate K-12 is the results we get from the students. We teach! Elevate provides an innovative classroom using technology, aligned curriculum, small groups, a qualified teacher, and a support team. When this comes together and a frustrated student overcomes an obstacle and gains confidence – there is no better joy and satisfaction.
Describe your best moment as an APM. Be specific!
My most rewarding moments as an APM are facilitating and witnessing a creative or ingenious way of delivering a hard to understand a concept. Some of our teachers are incredibly gifted and dedicated and will not rest until the student reaches the desired level of understanding. Being able to promote an effective teacher to student connection that creates an innovative and productive learning environment is incredibly rewarding.
Outside of working with students, what do you like to do?
I love to travel and explore new areas, especially historical sites since I am a history buff. I love photography. Not only taking the pictures, but also scrapbooking them and creating digital slide shows to music. I have 22,000 photos on my computer!
Thanks, Diane B.!
