Former PE Advisory Exec Joins Elevate K-12 as it Scales Its Live Streaming Instruction Service
Elevate K-12, a Chicago-based live streaming instruction provider for K-12 schools and districts, announced the appointment of Sean Farnan as Chief Financial Officer.
Farnan most recently served as Chief Financial and Operations Officer for Alvarez & Marsal’s Global Transaction Advisory Group (TAG), where he focused on responsibilities spanning across financial, operational and strategic duties for their global private equity transaction advisory practice. At Alvarez & Marsal, he was involved in various leadership roles over nearly 13 years where the private equity services practice evolved from a start-up to a rapidly growing global alternative to Big Four transaction advisory practices.
Farnan is experienced in orchestrating transformational management ideas and concepts into operation, as well as leading multi-year strategic planning processes driving organizations through evolutionary growth.
Prior to his tenure at Alvarez & Marsal, he served as Senior Manager at Ernst & Young. Farnan holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Notre Dame. He is also a CPA licensed in Illinois. Additionally, he is extremely active in the entrepreneurial investment community in Chicago.
As part of Elevate K-12’s leadership team, Farnan will focus on leading, building, and scaling the organization’s vision of developing a market leading organization focused on high-quality live online instruction.
“Sean comes with 20+ years of financial leadership experience in global PE services in the US, Europe, and Asia. Elevate K-12 is at an important scale phase and we were looking for a finance leader at this rapid growth stage to set the platform for building a sustainable KPI driven organization,” said CEO and Founder Shaily Baranwal. “We are extremely excited and we look forward to Sean’s leadership and experience as he guides us through our next phase of capital structure and scale.”
“Joining Elevate K-12 offers a unique opportunity to be a part of a team focused on building and scaling an industry-leading platform designed to foster student growth and shape the next generation of learners,” said Farnan. “I look forward to being part of that transformation, combining my experience of providing operational grit with a passion for building dynamic organizations to keep this company at the forefront of edtech and instruction as a service.”
